We have some additional space available for camping at the Dunes this weekend.  Please contact Mr. Matousek if you are intested.  We are also tight in seat belts, so we would need to find an additional adult if anyone else is interested.

Troop 1 will be integrating Slack into our Troop communications. There will still be the regular emails, but a lot of online conversations and quick announcements will be on Slack. It's a central place for both Troop and Patrol communications. You should have an invite from Slack in your email with a button to create an account.

As this hike will be our last opportunity to really prepare for our 12-days and 60 miles of camping and backpacking in the high-desert mountains of the New Mexico wilderness, we need to make this a mandatory activity.

Mr. Drake will be teaching the Troop how to cook and care for Dutch Ovens At our February 12th meeting.  If time allows we will cook up some desserts. 

Monday, February 5th‘s Meeting Mr. Carroll will be going over cold weather camping.  He will teach the skills necessary to camp out in winter weather and not only survive, but to be comfortable. This will prepare us for our February Campout at GTP.
